Summer Slump
May 23, 2016, 4:00 PM

The summer months are upon us. Many churches face the summer in fear of the dreaded "SUMMER SLUMP". Many of our people go on vacation during the summer months and there is nothing wrong with that. All of us need time to relax and be renewed. Vacations are a great way to do that. Unfortunately, with more of our folks gone, our attendance may be lower than normal. However, if those of us who are in town will be faithful to our Lord by supporting our church, our attendance will remain high. This will show others how much we love and support our church.

Ephesians 5:16 tells us, ”Redeeming the time, because the days are evil." This means that time is precious. So we need to use it wisely this summer.

Here are some ways to make the best use of your time this summer:

1. Be away as few Sundays as possible. Arrange your vacation to take the least time from the church and its ministries.

2. If you are a teacher or leader, be sure that someone has agreed to take over your responsibilities while you are gone.

3. Don't use the Lord's money for your vacation. There is no vacation from the responsibilities we have assumed as a church.

4. When you are away on vacation, make sure you attend church on the Lord's day.

Hebrews 2:3 warns us, “How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation?"

Let's make this summer one that glorifies the name of Jesus in all we do.

See You in CHURCH!
