Behold, how good and how pleasant it is For brethren to dwell together in unity! It is like the precious oil upon the head, Running down on the beard, The beard of Aaron, Running down on the edge of his garments. It is like the dew of Hermon, Descending upon the mountains of Zion; For there the LORD commanded the blessing-Life forevermore. (Psalm 133:1-3) (NKJV)
In the spirit of unity and togetherness, things can be done much more quickly and much more easily. It has been said that one of the greatest problems facing the church today is a lack of unity. We are living in days where individualism has been raised to such a position of prominence that the very thought of people coming together to serve a common goal is considered absurd.
The truth is people are hungry and looking for a place where they can hear the truth from God's Word and where they can experience the joy of being with people who care about each other. There is enough hatred, enough indifference, enough loneliness and enough hurt in today's world. This is such a prime opportunity for the church to step up and stand out as a place where people can be treasured, valued and really loved. Let's make every effort to be that kind of church!
A church doesn't grow by going through a daily ritual, but she also doesn't grow without planning and definite cultivation. Here are some proven ways to help a church grow spiritually:
1 Attending Bible Study together regularly.
2. Worshipping together regularly
3. Having fun together.
4. Expressing love and affection for one another.
5. Under girding and supporting one another.
6. Working together; accepting responsibility for jobs in the church.
7. Reaching out to others as a Christian family.
Did you notice how many times the word "together" was used? When we pull together to do what God wants, Jesus said "the gates of hell shall not prevail against it." (Matthew 16:18)
